Choose how
you wear it.
Three ways to begin with Crucible. Every concept starts with a watch and the shared gunmetal steel bracelet.
The original pairing.
The full gunmetal look, with your choice of core dial.
- One Vanguard, Sentinel or Legion watch
- Gunmetal steel bracelet
A change of character.
Add leather for a softer contrast against the gunmetal case.
- One Vanguard, Sentinel or Legion watch
- Gunmetal steel bracelet
- One leather strap in black or brown
Color beyond the dial.
Add a silicone strap to vary the feel and color of your watch.
- One Vanguard, Sentinel or Legion watch
- Gunmetal steel bracelet
- One silicone strap in black, blue or green
Bundle concepts only. Pricing, included accessories, strap fit and availability will be confirmed after supplier quotes and sample approval. Victoria is being developed separately as a planned Kickstarter exclusive. A silicone strap does not establish a water-resistance rating.
Your owner’s guide.
A practical introduction to the selected Miyota 9015 automatic movement and the bands being developed for Crucible.
Crucible is in development. This guide covers the selected Miyota 9015 movement. The final crown, bracelet fasteners and strap fittings will be confirmed with production samples; the instructions supplied with your finished watch will take precedence.
Start and wind an automatic watch
Take the watch off your wrist. If the final crown is screw-down, gently unscrew it first. Leave it in the normal winding position, without pulling it out, and turn it clockwise. Miyota specifies 40 clockwise crown turns for a full wind from empty. Gentle movement can help start the seconds hand. Do not shake forcefully.
Normal wrist movement also winds an automatic movement. If the watch stops after being left unworn, wind it and reset the time. Stop if the crown binds or feels abnormal.
Set the time and date
Do not quick-set the date while the watch shows a time between 8:30 PM and 2:00 AM.
- Pull the crown to the second click. Move the hands forward to 6 o’clock before using the quick-set date.
- Return to the first click and turn the crown clockwise to set yesterday’s date.
- Pull to the second click again. Advance the hands until the date changes to today; this is midnight. Continue forward to the correct time, allowing for AM or PM.
- Push the crown fully home. If your finished watch has a screw-down crown, secure it gently without forcing the threads.
Keep the watch dry while operating the crown. Never force a crown that resists movement.
Size the gunmetal bracelet
Begin with the wrist fit guide and try the bracelet comfortably above the wrist bone. It should stay secure without pinching. The final removable links, fasteners and clasp adjustment range are still being engineered.
- Ask a watchmaker to identify the actual link fasteners before adjustment. Pins, pin-and-collar systems and screws need different methods.
- Have links removed in a balanced arrangement so the clasp sits comfortably beneath your wrist. Keep every removed link and fastener.
- After sizing, check that the clasp closes securely, the links move freely and no pin or screw protrudes. Recheck fit during normal wear.
Use only the method and tools specified for the finished bracelet. Contact us if the clasp or a link feels loose.
Change a leather or silicone strap
The proposed lug width is 20 mm. Width alone does not confirm compatibility: spring-bar diameter, tip length and end shape must also match the finished case.
- Work over a soft surface with the watch face protected. Use the quick-release lever only if that fitting is supplied; otherwise ask a watchmaker to use the correct spring-bar tool.
- Fit the buckle half at 12 o’clock and the longer adjustment half at 6 o’clock. Seat both spring-bar tips fully in the lug holes.
- Gently tug each end away from the case and inspect both tips before wearing. The strap must not detach or slide out.
Do not force curved end links or reuse a bent spring bar. Final strap-changing instructions will be supplied with the approved hardware.
Care for black or brown leather
Wipe leather with a soft, dry cloth after wear. Keep it away from soaking, perfume and cleaning solvents. If damp, let it dry naturally away from heaters and direct sun. Do not store it while wet. Check the buckle holes, stitching and attachment points regularly, and replace a strap that is cracked or weakened.
Care for black, blue or green silicone
Remove the strap from the watch before washing it with mild soap and lukewarm water. Rinse and dry it completely before refitting. Avoid solvents, abrasive cleaners and excessive heat. Check for tears near the spring bars and buckle holes, and verify both attachment points after every strap change.
Water exposure and general care
A water-resistance rating has not yet been confirmed for Crucible. Keep the watch head dry until the finished watch’s tested rating and use instructions are published. A silicone strap does not make the watch suitable for swimming.
Clean the case with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid impacts, strong magnetic fields, chemicals and extreme heat. If moisture appears inside the crystal, or the watch runs unusually, stop using it and contact us. Do not open the case yourself.

A clearer expression of Crucible.
The supplier drawing dated 4 October refines the shared case, hands, hour markers and dial lettering across Vanguard, Sentinel, Legion and Victoria. Victoria now features a black printed dial with gold veining and gold-colored details. The current caseback direction is an exhibition design.
The previews here follow that drawing. Physical samples will confirm the dial finishes, proportions and final specifications before approval.

Vanguard, Sentinel and Legion now share a uniform vertically brushed dial direction. Victoria’s earlier study explored an obsidian forged texture with antique gold accents; the current direction is shown in the October update. The band study includes gunmetal steel, two leather colors and three silicone colors.
Next: supplier feedback and planning the first physical samples. A 99-piece Victoria edition remains a proposal; quantities and the Kickstarter launch will be confirmed after development.
